QR codes for a content
Wi-Fi, contact card, message, place, event: a QR code that holds the content itself.
The QR for a content tab makes a code that contains the information directly, with no short link. Pick what it holds, fill in the fields, choose a design and download it as SVG or PNG, or print it.
# What a code can hold
- Text: any text, up to 1,000 characters.
- Wi-Fi access: network name, password, security (WPA, WEP or none), hidden network. Phones offer to join the network.
- Contact card: name, company, job title, phone, e-mail, website, address. Phones offer to save the contact.
- SMS: a number and a ready message.
- E-mail: the address, a subject and a message.
- WhatsApp: a number with country code and a ready message.
- Place (GPS): latitude and longitude, opened in the map application.
- Calendar event: title, place, start and end; phones offer to add it to the calendar.
# Fixed codes
The content is written inside the code, and no click is counted. A code already printed or scanned never changes. For a code whose destination you can change afterwards and whose scans you can measure, create a link: its QR code points to the short address.
# Save and manage
You can use the tab without saving: fill in the fields, download or print the code, and nothing is kept. To come back later, give the code a name under Keep this code and press Save. It then appears in My saved codes, with buttons to edit (the form is filled again), download SVG or PNG, print and delete.
- How many codes you can keep depends on your plan (see Plans); the counter is shown above the list. Generating without saving has no limit.
- Editing a saved code changes the code you download from now on; a code already printed does not change.
- A QR design can be chosen for each code. A design used by a saved code cannot be deleted before the code is switched or removed.
- Saved codes are deleted with your account.
# For administrators
The administration lists the saved codes of all accounts (name, kind, owner, date) and can delete one, for example after an abuse report. It never shows what a code contains: Wi-Fi passwords or contact cards stay private to their owner. There is no creation tool in the administration.
The more content, the denser (and harder to scan) the code. Keep Wi-Fi passwords and messages short, and print large enough.
# Design
Pick one of your QR designs (colours, shapes, logo) or the plain code.
